Holes in your walls or ceiling are just ugly, and when they happen most people want to have them fixed right away.
Although sometimes they are easy to fix, it can be messy and frustrating to get it to look just right.
Small holes
Fixing small holes in drywall can usually be accomplished with a can of Spackle and a small putty knife. If the hole is the size of a quarter or less, you can just spread some Spackle in the hole, let it dry and sand smooth. This may take two coats of Spackle to get it to fill the hole flush. Then just touch it up if you have the right paint and that's it!
Medium size holes
These holes are bigger than a quarter but no bigger than a dollar bill.
To repair holes like this you will ,need some drywall tape, and some drywall mud,and a small drywall knife. You may also need some backing of some sort to keep the mud from falling through the hole.
First stick the backing in the hole ( a big waded up paper works well). Then spread some drywall mud in the hole and put drywall tape over the whole thing. Smooth out with small drywall knife and let dry.lightly sand and skim a second coat of drywall mud over the patch until smooth. let dry and lightly sand. Touch up paint until it looks great!
Large Drywall repair
Repairs like this means that drywall needs to be cut out and replaced. Usually due to a water leak or some other kid of accident. If you need this kind of repair I recommend you call me or another professional. Water damage can lead to mold and other problems in the wall if not taken care of properly.
